I am planning to install Jack Hammer 12000Watts Woofers in my Hyundai Accent. Will the car's original battery work or will I need to fit in two batteries, and where would be the best place for that. What type/ material of the box will the woofer fit in. Thanx for the answer.

  1. you might want something a bit smaller then 12000 watts i think that will crack open your car like a tuna can

  2. 1.) upgrade your "big 3"

2.) get the best battery you can (optima, kenetic)

3.) if needed, upgrade your alternator

4.) still need more power, add an extra battery in the trunk.

the correct way to wire two batteries is to connect the two + from each battery so the one under the hood feeds the one in the trunk. you will want to use a fuseable link (or an in-line fuse will do) at the + of each battery. this will prevent the wire from sparking and potentially causing a fire if anything were to happen to the + wire between the 2 bats.

hook the amp + to the bat. + in the trunk.

ground the amp (the bat. - can work but may cause ground loop interferance, your better off grounding to the car itself)

as for the sub enclosure, 3/4" MDF with as much bracing as you can. maybe even double up the front.

  3. One of those subs weigh over 200 pounds! I don't think a single amp can push it.  You would have to link some amps together like they did on "Pimp my Ride" they put a Jackhammer in a Buick Century and they used five amplifiers and four batteries to power it not to mention they needed a steel reinforced enclosure to house it and a forklift to move it around.  I would recommend four deep cycle batteries/isolators/upgraded alternator(s)/0 guage power and ground cables. Good luck!

  4. I Know This Isnt What Your Looknig For But Personally On My Opionion The MTX ''Wackhammer'' Sucks No Offence! But Really The Best 4 Brands Are: DC Sound Lab,

    TC Sounds,Fi.Audio,& RE.Audio.

If You Buy One 18'' Woofer From Anyone Of Those Brands Above (Fully Powered!) It Would Kill Your Car & The ''Wackhammer!''. (Espically The 18'' Fi.BTL!)

The 18'' Kicker Solo X Will Also Kill The Wackhammer. The Solo X Is 10000 Peak & 5000 Rms. Its Only 1549.99 For The Dual 2 Ohm Or Dual 4 Ohm. (Way Cheaper Than Jackhammer!)

But Lets Get To The Jackhammer. Its Allmost 10 Stacks & Its Not As Loud As The Woofers Listed Above. But I Cant Make You Change Your Mind But If You Want The Wackhammer Heres The Best Mono Amp That Will Power The Jackhammer. Its A Hifonics XX-Goliath & It Puts Out 5000 Rms @ 1 Ohm & Its Only 1799.99! This Amp Can Be Found On www.sonicelectronix.com.

    Heres Another Amp.

Make Sure You Focus On RMS Not Peak! Peak Doesnt Mean **** Just Picture It Not There @ All. The More Rms The Better.

Also Just Because Its Bigger,Heaver & Taller Doesnt Mean Its The Baddest ****** Sub Around.

Also If Your Getting The Jackhammer Its Gonna Cost Alot For Installing It. Its Gonna Cost Alot For The Enclosure. And It Will Cost Alot For The Amps,Caps,And Batteries Than It Would For A 18'' Sub That Is Louder Cheaper & Better.

Oh Yea I Dont Really Have Nothing Against MTX Butt I Heard Bad Comments About Them. But I Have Never Even Heard Or Saw One Bad Comment On Fi.Audio. You Should Look Into It!

    ''Hope This Helped!''
