Need help...!!!....For transfer American DVD to UK DVD....?

I have HARD d**k DVD RECORDER....

I want to copy DVD from USA(region 1) to UK (region 2)....

Is that possible if I copy DVD on hard disc and then from hard disc to dvd recorder (which is uk)....

WILL IT CONVERT REGION???

Easiest way is to use a decent video editing programme, import the disc in it's original (NTSC) format, then burn it as a PAL dvd which is region 2.

I guess you mean hard disc recorder...

I´m surprised it can´t play all regions. DVDs that can´t are rare. I don´t think I have seen one irl...

The original DVD is probably a dual layer disc (DVD 9). That means it is about 7 GB in size and won´t fit onto a standard 4.7 GB DVDr. But most ripper programs gives you the option to simply discard of stuff you never ever watch anyway. Like additional soundtracks in spanish, subtitles in Swahili, trailers and pointless extramaterial. If you throw away all that extra weight you get a DVD much closer to 4.7 GB. The burn prog will still compress the material left but it will be less compressed, and better quality, than if you had tried to fit the whole disc onto a 4.7 DVDr.

DVD shrink is actually quite good at compressing/recoding a ripped DVD but it uses the drive routines from a burn program like Nero.

Free program DVD shrink will do this, usually the output is region free but you can chose to make the output region 2.
