Need help IDing a book- boyfriend read it in school?

It sounds VERY familiar, but I cant quite conjure up the title.

It was set in the future, and beautiful people had to wear masks,

stronger people had to carry weights around..

Pretty much, people who had a physical advantage were cut down.

Also, he says theres plans to make a movie out of it.
