wow, isn't it amazing how uneducated some Americans actually are. They get confused with their states and countries. Some think individual American states are countries and some think countries are American states. Some even think continents are countries... You can't help but laugh, and have pity for the ones that do know a bit about the world because they are forever being brought down by these morons.

I am assuming that you mean countries, not American states.  The answer is that the largest countries added the most people:

China, India, USA, Indonesia, Russia.
