Need help adjusting car subwooofers?

Question

i have two 12 inch orion subwoofers powered by a 900 watt amp.

the music i play sounds too bassy and i was wondering if some how i could adjust that. I fiddled around with settings on the headunit but that didn't really fix what i want. I'm wondering what all those buttons on the amplifiers do?? It sounds like way too much bass and not enough midrange, but i know the speakers in the front and back are of high quality too.

I just bought the car and it came with all of this and i'm new to all of this.

lower down the bass and the frequency on the amp. that should do the trick.
