  1. A = (2)(π)(r^2) + (2)(π)(r)(h)

    factor out 2π from the right side

    A = 2π(r^2 + rh)

    divide by 2π

    A / 2π = r^2 + rh

    0 =  r^2 + hr - A/(2π)

    This is the standard quadratic equation.

    Use the quadratic formula now.
