So my recruiter told me that if I join I HAVE TO GO to where my husband is stationed...Is this true? Because he is stationed in Kansas but I want to go to Korea..I thought being stationed at the same post was only IF you wanted to and then you would have to join the Married Couples program..But since I DON'T WANT to be stationed where he is shouldn't I have the option of goin to Korea as my first duty station?

  1. I have never heard that.  Recruiters are big liers if you guys have not figured that out yet.  I have heard of many couples being stationed in different posts.  I wouldn't worry about that or worry if you want to be with him.

  2. You do not have to be stationed on the same post as your husband.  If you do not want to get divorce, say together.  If you do not care or want to get divorced get stationed separately.  I have seen only three married couples not get posted together.  All of them where either getting divorced or divorced by the time it came for them to PCS next.

  3. my son is in iraq his wife is here it ftsill in oklahoma i now they will not let here go were it is a hostile agains the usa did your husband enlist yet dont sign anything untill they give him a cash bonus up front and dont let them recruiters lie to you cause they will thats they dont give bonuses well  they do and if ya need any more info you can e-mail me i work on post at ft sill and mydaughter inlaw talks with lots of soldiers wifes as i do we can find out what ever you need to know this is if your only married and she not a soldier if your a soldier to the army can do what they want to you send you anywere they want they lie to my son all the time just like the recruiters good luck 2 you

  4. If you have not signed yet then I'd do more research, as I understand it you can not choose your first duty station, you can make whats called a wish list but in the end the armys gonna stick you were your needed.

I'd think about that, chances are you wont get korea (everybody wants the exotic places) and end up nowhere special in the states and without your husband.
