i moved in with an old mate a few weeks ago and regret it big time. I was basically persuaded to move to a completely new town, thinking it would be fun but i really dont like it here. hes a really old mate but he moans all the time about trivial things and is really boring. we are 4 months into a 12 month tennancy and i think the contract has a 6 month get-out clause... also i cant really afford to live here as the commute to work is so far. shall i see it out for the remainding 12 months or tell him i want out now???

  1. you should check out the 6 month claus. talk to your flat mate and start saving now it costs alot to move.

  2. Well, that would be 8 more months that you would have to deal with living there and I can tell you that you will go insane. Talk with him and let him know how you feel, with any type of rental agreement there will be a penalty to move out prior to your release date. If he cannot afford the place on his own than you will be stuck. Go to the leasing office first and find out all the facts to see if it would even be possible in the first place, if it is and you know that, then go to him and let him know otherwise you'll tell him then find out you might not be able to move than it'll be too late and it'll be totally awkward between you two. Good luck girl, I hope it works out and you get what you need!

  3. you said, "i cant really afford to live here" so get out now and use this as a reason instead of because he is boring.
