  1. No feed back on the E.V.S yet..There is a long waiting list to get one..

The leat brace seems to be working in most cases...But there has been some bad also...There have been a few kids that when they crashed..The leat  turned around there neck and the buckle cut there throat..So there are good and bad...Its not like there is a crash dummy that can test these things..We are the testers..It looks like the EVS will have more support...But until there is more feed back its hard to tell...We have a friend that ordered a EVS 2 months ago and its still not here yet...

    Leat brace cuts kneck

    --------------------------------------...

Found this on another site and thought I should share......

A 16 year old from our area had a bad crash on Sunday praticing a whoop section. He went over the bars and landed on his head. The Leatt brace apparently did it's job since he did not suffer a serious neck or spine injury. But, the brace somehow rotated and the buckle cut his neck severely. It didn't hit any arteries or nerves, but he spent a few days in the hospital and received 20+plus stitches in his neck.

  2. The EVS tends to sit more over the shoulders and I know my son doesn't want one as he reckons it would be too restrictive to ride with. He finds the Leatt very comfortable.

At this stage I know the Leatt to do its job well and the EVS as yet really hasn't had a lot of feedback.

It is also true that a lot of the pro riders don't bother with them at all but in some ways I think that is just a case of old habits die hard.

The sad point of being paralysed in the sport is very real and I know of at least 3 or 4 riders one who had just stepped into the ranks of pro who have lost the use of their legs due to neck injury. If the Leatt stops that then you would be silly not to use one.

They do tend to increase the chance of concussion due to the neck not bending and taking up the impact, so basically the head comes to a stop a lot quicker which can mean a harder knock. But then that is a lot preferable to a broken neck.

But I suggest that you go and try both on as just because some may prefer the Leatt doesnt mean that the EVS won't give you protection. You may find it comfortable as different people prefer different things.
