I'm looking to buy a home theater system in a box for around $200. I found these two: Samsung HT-Z310T and a JVC THG30.

I'd rather buy something from SEARS because i have a $60 gift card i can use to bring the price down.

Any suggestions on which to buy or any other suggestions?

Thanks,

  1. I like Samsung, they have really came on in the last few years.

  2. I was surprised at how good the Samsung systems sounded when I noticed them at Fry's Electronics the other day. You basically get what you pay for up to about $1,000, but either one would probably be fine.

I would try to go somewhere that has them set up so that you can actually listen to them and pay particular attention to the subs as lower end systems are usually lacking there. If Sears has the one you want, I would definitely go there and use the card.

Also, make sure that the system has a receiver that will work with whatever you want to watch. Some only work with DVDs and you have to turn your television speakers on for watching regular TV.

By the way, I started with a similar system about 5 years ago and then each year replaced part of it until I ended up a Pioneer Elite receiver, Polk Monitor 70 speakers, a Klipsch - 10" 420W Powered Subwoofer, and a 50' Samsung 1080p plasma.

  3. I dont know if they have this at Sears, but this is a good one, Sony HT-DDWG700.

    Hope it helps!!!
