  1. jl audio is way better kenwood subs suck

  2. The JL Audio w1v2 line of subs are JL's "affordable" line. They are the least expensive subs JL offers. JL designed the w1v2s for budget applications to work with smaller amps.

On the other hand Kenwood only offers two different 12' subs and they are both pretty much the best kenwood can offer.

SO it's really not a fair comparison being the JL 12w1v2 is JLs lowest 12" model. ANY OTHER JL sub will put a kenwood sub to shame.

If your choice is between the two subs you asked about go with the Kenwood.

If you are looking for a good sub in that price range you may want to consider Kickers. I buy all my car audio equipment from ebay but I only but new. Ebay has unbeatable prices on car audio.

Do NOT use two different size subs. Using subs that are not alike can actually reduce your overall Db level because sound waves interfere with each other instead of joining forces.

  3. well your looking at a comparison between a ~500 watt jl system and an 800 watt kenwood system lol. the kenwoods will be more powerful if you have the amp to back em up

  4. i would chose the Kenwood - 12" 4-Ohm Single-Voice-Coil Subwoofer

Model: KFC-W3011 cuz its got everything for partys and when you in a load envirorment its perfect and whats not to like!?

  5. Well, i have installed and heard may subwoofers and I would definitely say go with the JL w1's. However, Never mix-match sub sizes. You should never get one 12 and one 10 EVER! There is no reason to mix the sizes. See, the 10" is going to play faster and hit faster (because its smaller) and the 12 is going to be a little slower so they wont actually be playing at the same time. You can actually make some of your bass disappear because the different sizes can cancel eachother out on some frequencies. And this is just the easy way to explain it.

Just buy 2 10" or 2 12" woofers. I dont care what a friend may have in his/her car or what you hear, mixing 2 different size subs is bad.

But definitely the JL they are the best for the money, definitely. If you want to save on some space, maybe look into getting a single 12w6v2.. They sound amazing.
