I have no clue how to do any of this. It's a Samsung camcorder DVD and I just need to know how to copy it onto my desktop and then Myspace- because I am not good with computers. Thanks!

  1. Read the manual that came with the camera. If you don't have one, you can download one from Samsung support.

  2. If your computer has a drawer loading DVD drive, take the disc out of the camcorder and put it in your computer's drawer loading DVD. NEVER put a miniDVD in a slot loading optical drive. If the DVD starts auto-play, hit escape and quit out of the DVD player. You will need to rip the DVD using something like HandBrake:

(Download and install the version appropriate for your computer.)

If your computer's optical drive is a slot loader OR is CD only (does not read DVDs), you can get an analog/digital converter:

If your computer has only USB:

    If your computer has firewire:

Using the AV cable that came with your camcorder, connect one end to the camcorder AV port and the other end to the A/D Bridge. The A/D bridge connects with USB or Firewire as appropriate.

Import or capture the video with your video editor. MovieMaker for Windows; iMovieHD for Macintosh.

    Edit.

Save as a .mov (QuickTime) if you are in the Mac environment; Save as .avi if you are in the Windows environment. Compress it a lot.

Go to your MySpace account page and click upload. Follow the instructions and prompts.
