  1. Why do you need daycare? Why not be a SAHM?  Why would you abandon your child to strangers?  Best of luck with that strategy.

  2. Their license should be posted in lobby or by the front door of daycare- ask to see it!

  3. http://www.daycareresource.com/missouri....

This site lists some cities and may help you out.  Good luck.  In Ohio you can look up daycare licensing inspections and find a website to type in a county and see the actual inspection reports online.  Perhaps your state has the same?

  4. Yup, just ask to see it. If they have one they have to show it to you. Good luck. Usually they have to visable to anyone. I know when I had mine, I had to post it some where so the parents could see it when they wanted to.

  5. I have been a licensed child care provider in my home in Michigan for 20 years.  I have to post my license in a conspicuous spot in my home.  If the daycare in question is in a home simply ask your provider to see his/her license.  If it is a daycare center it is likely they follow considerably stricter guidelines and would have their license posted.  In Michigan it would be nearly impossible to open an unlicensed daycare center due to regulations at the state and local levels.  Many people do have unlicensed child care homes, though.  In Michigan you can look at the website www.michigan.gov/dhs.  Give www.missouri.gov/dhs a try or simply do a search for "licensed child care providers Missouri".
