You are planning on buying a new car. One model that you are considering gets 32 mpg of gasoline in highway travel. The one that your spouse likes gets 14km to the liter. Whihc one has better gas mileage?

The other one I need help on is

A pound of coffee bean yeilds 50 cups of coffee ( 4 cups= 1 quart). How many millililters of coffee can be obtained per 1.0 gram of coffee beans?

  1. Here is the first one:

    32 miles / gallon   x   1.61 km/mile = 51.5 km/gallon (miles cancel)

    51.5 km/gallon  x   0.264 gallons/Liter = 13.6 km/Liter (gallons cancel)

    So 32 miles/gallon = 13.6 Km/Liter

    So 14 km/Liter is better

    1.61 and 0.264 are conversion factors you have to look up.
