For reference I am 20 years old, recently obtained my license so I have no driving record, living with parents in east bay area of california. I'm mainly looking at a honda civic but toyota is also an option. They will be used and probably not much younger than year 2000 depending as my limit is $5,000. Also My parents are telling me that insurance will be about a hundred, does that sound accurate? thanks

  1. I just replied to a similar question, for insurance see this

http://insurance.moneysavecenter.com/ it's one form to get a number of quotes from different insurers. It's free and a

    big time saver, good luck!

  2. A hundred, maybe on their policy. The payments would vary.. even upwards of $300 depending on the interest rate, which usually is not good. They once quoted me a 29% interest rate on a $6900 car about 5 years back. The payment would be $280ish. Your better off getting a personal loan, which doesn't put a lien on the car, but is harder to get. They have much lower interest rates as well.

  3. depending on the state you live in, registering will be up to $50.00 but most likely not that expensive.. i'm buying a car too! how funny. i have seen calculators on car websites.. i'm getting an '09 mazda6.. possbly try that?

  4. You can get a quote from an ins Co.Get your insurance in your Fathers name and have you listed as a driver and will be a lot cheeper. You still acheive an insurance rating and costs the same if you have a prang. Costs for 1 year, Rego, Ins  +about $600 for servicing and minor repairs. +Fuel per week x 4.3 av per month

  5. You might also want to compare the cost of repair and maintenance parts for the cars you are considering by looking them up on: http://www.rockauto.com/repairindex/

Even if a car was well built originally, it will still need parts after enough years and miles.

  6. you are supposed to collect as much as resource as you can by searching the relevant keyword in search engine,if you have good luck there, then your problem solved.however,if you could not find the fitful answer by doing that, here is the resource i prefered.http://car-insurance.online-helpers.info...

  7. Be sure to check insurance rates before you buy. Most people forget about that. Remember to factor in gas, monthly payments, and insurance to get true cost of driving the vehicle.
