Need help explaining english phrase to my spanish speaking friend.?

I have a spanish exchange student staying with me, 15 years old from huelva in spain, and i'm trying to explain our colloquialism for "of course" (or claro). She is curious why she hasn't heard anyone saying "of course" in conversation, because she says, that in spain, she says "of course" (or claro) a lot.

so i'm trying to tell her that we sometimes say "duh" if something is obvious.. or "h**l yeah/heck yeah" if we really agree to something. etc.

would anyone be able to explain (in spanish) what we would usually say for sentences, instead of "of course".

We say "sure", "you're right" "that's true", "you bet".

Try this:

Igual que en español, tenemos más de una manera de expresar el mismo pensamiento en inglés. Por ejemplo, en español, en vez de decir claro, tambien se puede decir por supuesto, pues ya, por supuesto, claro que sí, cómo no, vale, etc. En inglés en vez de decir of course, se puede decir expresiones como sure, sure thing, ok, "well, yes", etc.

I think "of course" is perfectly fine.

I wouldn't advice teaching "h**l yeah" or "duh" as an appropriate variation of "of course". "h**l yeah" is rude, and "duh" is often both rude and condescending.

As long is she is able to understand the colloquialisms, she should be fine.
