Need help fast. lawn mower troubles.....need troubleshooting and faq(s)........ type: briggs and stratton, select '20 or '22 (dont remember) 6.0 HP...............the problem it will start but not for more than 1 full second. and then it fades into a full stop....

now it wont even start at all..

um you may have broken a crank shaft... i dont know much about lawn mowers but my dirt bike was doing the same thing last year and it was the crankshaft. The gas could have water in it or the oil could be bad. It could be you spark plug too. i donno just some suggestions

Sounds like old gas,or plugged fuel filter.If you didn't drain the gas and let it set for more than three months you'll have to get the laquer cleaned from the carbourator

It could be a few problems.

1. Clogged carb. - Drain gas and remove carb. Blow out with air hose till dry and replace.

2. Fouled spark plug.- Take plug out, if covered with gunk, replace.

3. Dirty air filter.- Inspect and replace if filthy.
