My friend is shipping to Iraq. He is in the NJ National Guard. He shipped out of Ft. Dix NJ and is currently at Ft. Bliss TX training until they go to Iraq in the fall. I'm trying to send him mail. I called Bliss and they said I need his Unit number and such. All I know is he is NJ NG. The operators at both Bliss and Dix keep sending me to other people or giving me numbers that no one answers. It's been a week of this. My question is, is there a more direct way of finding out this info? And also can anyone identify the patch in the photo that I'm linking. It is the patch of the brigade he is shipping with. I think it may be noteworthy that he is infantry and not some POG waterboy.

  1. Have you tried BUDDY FINDER

  2. There is no way to find out his address without him telling you unless you know his unit down to the company level. It doesn't matter who he is deploying with. His address will reflect the unit he is serving in.  You would need to know his SS# to find out his duty address through the NJ National Guard human resources  command and even then, I would be very surprised if the unit just randomly gave out the address without his authorization. My husband's unit is very selective on who has access to their deployment addresses, although  if mail is received at the unit here in the states, they forward it overseas.

Your best bet is to contact someone in his family.

  3. in order to find him you will need to contact his unit  .  do you know where they are located .  my husband was at ft dix last year .

  4. His unit's rear detachment should have a good contact for his unit at fort bliss. The problem is he might not be on bliss but at WSMR or McGregor or dona ana ranges.

Don't talk about the waterboys bro. You can't drink bullets.

  5. This is the patch for the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the 42nd Infantry Division, which is a component of the New Jersey Army National Guard.  However, that does not help you in finding your friend's specific unit as there are thousands of people in the 50th BCT which is located at Fort Dix.  You would need to know down to the company level to have the best results.  If you e-mail or message me, I can help you further.
