I know what I am looking for and there are plenty of websites for people to custom make them, but they are SOOO expensive!! I need to find one "off the rack" so to speak that is within my budget or I'll wind up wearing one that I had bought for another wedding that fell through. Ewww!! I want satin/white a-line skirt with bell sleeves and a slight train. With a corset type bodice. Any help??? Thanks in advance!! I know, I'm picky but my fiance loves rennaissance style stuff and he wants me to have a gown like that. And I look good in that style anyway. thanks so much!!

  4. I saw many on Ebay, check this out.

  5. I used to belong to the SCA- Society for Creative Anachronism- not sure if you've ever heard of it- it's international and there are groups EVERYWHERE- one thing it involves is period costumes and lots of talented people making their own costumes. I don't know where you live so I can't post the link for the group in your area- but it's easy enough to find if you go to this site - click on the menu item where it says how to find the group in your region  (it will have the period/medieval name of that 'kingdom' as well as the 'real time' name in brackets -e.g. Barony of Lions Gate is the medieval name for Vancouver Canada. Then find a contact page for that group (e.g. 'Council' and you can email either the Arts and Sciences person or the Chatelaine- explain your situation and ask if they can let you know of who might make or sell you one for cheap.

Yes store bought or professional costumers will cost you a lot.

Good luck and congrats and thumbs up on the dress choice! I decided long ago if I ever got married as I was in love with medieval history since I was a kid, that I would have a medieval wedding.

Alternative, if you or someone you know sews, go to Butterick or some other pattern website and look under costumes- I bought a few of my costume patterns and material- instead of getting someone else to make them or buy them in a store- saved a bundle!

ADD (would help if I posted the link LOL) http://www.sca.org/geography/welcome.htm...

  6. Check www.bridalonlinestore.com it's awesome!

  7. You could do what I did when I couldn't find the style I wanted (not medieval, but the idea might work for you).  I found the dress i wanted and got a bridal bolero.  Here's a site (i didn't use this one) that has the bell sleeves:  http://www.wed-shopping.com/display.php3...

I got mine on ebay for only $35!  I can't find it right now, but you can look there.

I don't know your price, but here's a few I found on ebay:

    Item #s

    150277452993

    360074096948

Do a search on ebay, there are a bunch there and they're quite pretty!

Good luck!  Oh, you might try bridal shops and see if they have anything they're discontinuing and clearancing.  You never know!!!!
