Question:

Need help finding a cruise!?

We would like to go on a cruise that makes ports of call in Ashdod (Israel) and possibly Port Said (Cairo, Egypt) in June or July of 2008. We would like to spend less than $2000 per person on the cruise itself. I found just the cruise with a cruise line called Thomson, but the only date for that cruise is October 2008, which will not work for us. Can anyone offer suggestions of where else to look? (I have spent quite a bit of time on the internet with not much luck).

  1. I would check http://www.galaxy.joystar.com and something that interests you request a quote they will give you the best price. Vacationstogo I used once and there customer service stinks.

  2. I wonder if the weather is not good for cruising at that time?  I also did some searching for you and came up empty.  A great place to look is www.vacationstogo.com

Select "middle east" as your region.

  3. check http://allcruiselines.info

    they have good info

  4. The cruise ships that stop in Ashdod and Port Said have itineraries longer than 7-nights (most are about 14 nights and some even longer) and tend to be more expensive.  They also do not do this itinerary in the peak tourist months of June, July and August, when most people are looking to stop at the more popular destinations (Rome, Barcelona, etc) in the Mediterranean.

If you can change your dates and length, check out Princess cruises -- the Pacific Princess has a 12-night sailing in August that includes Ashdod and Port Said.

If you can't alter your vacation dates, you might consider a short cruise down the Nile and a land/air trip to Israel's coast.

    Enjoy!
