Need help finding a homeschool program that allows you to test for your high school diploma?

I'm seventeen, I've just been through a bad situation that caused me to have to withdraw from high school. My principal told me about a place that I can basically "test out" of high school and get my diploma immediately. It was not a GED program, but I called and they are either out for the summer or the business has been closed down. I'm hoping someone might have some luck helping me find something similar at a reasonable price. The one I was looking at was $450, and I'm not sure that I can spend much more than that. But it is imperative that I get my diploma and start my college course soon, because I'm not sure when the next chance I'll have to do so will be.

They claim you can "test out" and get a diploma, but I'd be leery.  They also claim you can take a GED test, but the real GED website says you can NOT take a real GED test online, it doesn't exist.
