Need help finding a resort in Cancun?

Question

Somewhere on hotel-row and within walking distance or a five minute drive into town. I am booking for my boss and I dont know much myself. He will be travelling with a date over New Years and would like a Four-star or better with a Junior Suite and it does NOT have to be all inclusive. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

I went to Secrets, Excellence Resort, Riviera Cancun for my honeymoon & loved it. It might be kind of far (15-30min drive) from downtown though, but my husband & I didn't even want to leave the resort because there was so much to do there!

The Fiesta Americana Coral Beach is a fantastic resort. This resort is a 5 star, close to all the clubs. shopping. It is not a all-inclusive, so he can enjoy some of the other wonderful restaurants in Cancun. It is located at the top of the 7 with calm water. (Cancun hotel zone is shaped like a 7)

The Ritz-Carlton: Ive stayed there, had a great time and great reviews (which is why we stayed there)

We almost stayed at the Rui Palace but their were several complaints about the beds being hard.
