  1. If toys can be "black" or "white," why not handicapped? I think kids would like to have dolls that reflect who they are. Some say toys should be an escape, but when you're of a minority or have a disability and every doll out there is "normal" and caucasian (usually) or black, then what? Why not have toys for the disabled? Some companies are catching on to this idea. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.ht...

I haven't found any plastic dolls with disabilities. The closest I could find was vinyl. http://www.thingamababy.com/baby/2007/07...

If dolls can be black or white, why not offer dolls with disabilities to help disabled children feel more comfortable? It might also expose other children to the reality of disabilities and start them asking questions. Some people don't agree with the concept of special needs dolls. For diversity why not give your daughter "normal" dolls and dolls with disabilities?
