Need help from people familiar with boston?

I' m 18 years old and just graduated from high school. I am also pregnant and the baby is due in october. I will be attending UMass Boston in january for the second semester as I am taking off the first semester to have the baby. umass boston is a commuter school so i need to find a cheap place to live with daycare available so that a few months after the baby is born i can start working and going to school. I may live with my aunt and her kid when the baby is born and until my "sophomore year" begins in the fall of '09. however, if i don't does anyone know of any family oriented housing projects in Boston that..this may sound silly..are safe..?What would a typical monthly rent be in one of these places and are they really as awful as everyone says they are? what should i expect? I am single by the way, man split and left me. Also not that this affects much, but I am white.

Ugh. Boston is pricey pricey. Can you look into outside of boston and just take the T in? Lynn is very affordable. My cousin lives in Boston, and her rents are ridiculous.

You may qualify for aid, check out www.mass.gov and look for aid for families in need (tanf I think), I think they will help you where you will be a student. Also, get WIC if you have not done so already. Good Luck!

haha actually being white does affect it. and ik what you mean , i was pregnant at 17 with twins, and actually just had them, as for you buying a place and raising your baby working and going to school thats ALOT. so good luck i really cant help you out with it all, im not familliar with umass, i do live in boston just not around there. and now im currently living with my bf's parents, and were hoping to move out soon but rent and taking care of 2 babies who are premature and not even out of the hospitol yet, is way to much for us,  good luck and i would deff. suggest staying with your aunt as long as possible and saving every penny you get! if you need anyhting else you can email mee.
