Need help getting to mexico by air and the ground?

I just recieved a letter today saying I wasnt eligible to get a passport due to past child support not even that much. My girlfriend has already paid for this trip since I don't have that much money since I am paying child support. My question is since you don't need a passport by land is there a way I could fly into south texas and take a bus into cancun or rent a car. I'm coming from Wisconsin anybody ever do this before? The big question would be is there a bus that goes into cancun? What are my option's any help would be great.

Yes there is a bus to Cancun.  You can take buses from Mc Allen Texas into Mexico...but if you take the bus all the way to cancun, you will be on the bus at least 3 days.  Why not just take a bus to Monterrey and then fly to Cancun?  The buses leave from the cental bus station in McAllen Texas several times a day and are cheap, but very nice. You do NOT want to drive to Cancun or take the bus...it is a VERY long way.  The bus line that goes from McAllen to Monterrey is called Senda.  There may be others as well.  They have buses leaving for Monterrey almost hourly all day.   The trip takes 4 hours. You could then take a taxi from the bus station in Monterrey to the airport. The bus fare is 205 pesos...about $20.00 USD.  Do you speak a little Spanish?

New info...hope you see this.   I just found out about a REALLY cheap airline that flies from Monterrey to cancun...you should check this out...may help you.
