Need help help on pokemon gold!

Question

I got a second hand copy of pokemon gold 1 year ago and it wasn't erased! I didn't bother to erase the game,but now I want to! The thing is,I don't know if I should or shouldn't.It dosen't have that good of pokemon,but I don't know if I should! I don't have a cord and I can't get one so that means that I can't trade any pokemon!Please help me!!!!
