Need help... i am painting my bathroom

Question

ok i have just started painting my bathroom with emulsion but have a horrible feeling i have to use special bathroom paint..!! do i? i hope not!! lol. thanks in advance

if you use bathroom paint it is better as it is moisture resistant. otherwise the normal paint will peel over time.

There's nothing wrong with just emulsion.............. bathroom paints are normally better because the are wipe clean and are better for steamy rooms with condensation.

We are painting our bathroom and have bathroom paint, if not, when the bathroom gets steamy the paint will start to peel and maybe discolour.

it would be better if u go for tile cladding or the special paint will be good to go....

hi, nothing wrong with enamel for the bathroom!

just make sure to use a proper brand like dulux or plascon!

if you prime the walls proper and allow to dry the correct time before recoating or wipeing then nothing can go wrong!

Well, I would assume you would have to use a paint that won't peel off when the bathroom gets steamy.

I'm no expert, but I think special bathroom paint is for the best!

you don't really, but it would be better,

as long as it isn't matt finish, if it is then just put some PVA glue in the paint this will make it waterproof. PVA glue is the stuff kids use to glue thing with, and you can get it at any stationary or B & Q type shop

You can use vinyl matt emulsion in bathrooms, except where a shower might directly splash it.

You can buy a water-based eggshell which is good for walls.  You don't need the 'kitchen and bathroom' paint sold in DIY stores.  I  used to work in a trade paint store and most don't bother with it.

And don't put PVA in paint.  It is not waterproof at all.

Try and get some paint called Eggshell for the bathroon door and Satin for the walls.
