Ok so next week i am going to either 6 flags or dorney park (my friends haven't decided yet).

Anyway, i have an absolute fear of going upside down, not because i think i wall fall, but because i dont want to throw up.

I really could use any advice or reassurance on how i can get myself to do it.

Please dont call me a "wussy" or any word that rhymes with it, i just have a complete fear of vommitting.

also, all the roller coasters i was able to convince myself to go on, i loved!

(Space mountain, Expedition Everest, El toro (all wooden rollercoaster im ok with))

  1. Haha, well first of all, don't worry- you're not a wussy or any other word that rhymes with that. It's completely normal to have a fear of roller coasters- especially going upside down. The best way to confront your fears is to do just that- confront them! Thing of it this way, the worst that could happen is you'll throw up. But don't be scared! If you've ridden on roller coasters before, you'll probably be fine. And if you are really uncomfortable on going on these roller coasters, talk to your friends about it. If they're really your friends, they'll understand.

    Good luck! :)

  2. go to six flags. it is way better in terms of rides and things to do. just ride a roller coaster. you only live once and you should go on a roller coaster. they have some easy coasters that go upside down like superman and batman. you wont throw up unless you eat right before you ride.

  3. OOOOH! My heart goes out to you. I had the exact same problem for the longest time. Ok so the first couple of upside-down roller coasters you go on, close your eyes. Motion sickiness is mainly caused by the brain not being able to process what the eyes are seeing. Once you've done a couple with your eyes closed then try to ride one with your eyes open. Eventually you may learn to love them and get addicted like I am. Lol...good luck!

  4. dont worry i get motion sickness like really bad

you WILL NOT through up on loops

only if it is a spinny ride like twists in circles but not loops

you will be fine trust e i get SUPER motion suickness and i do no through up on loops

try it out becuase if you dont you will regret it

  5. I don't know why the person above me said that corkscrews don't go completely upside-down; a corkscrew is a form of inversion, and all inversions, by definition, go completely upside-down.  My $0.02 for you is that if you don't already experience motion sickness from roller coasters without inversions, there is really no reason to think that being upside-down will cause you to get sick.  On most coasters that go upside-down, you can't physically feel that you are upside-down and the only way to tell is by looking around.

If you're really nervous about it, try riding your first inverted coaster with your eyes closed.  More than likely, you won't be able to tell when it's going upside-down.  This way, you can prove to yourself that it feels no different than being right-side up, and you'll be more comfortable riding all of the others.

  6. You really shouldn't have anything to worry about. I would say you should only be afraid of throwing up if you're prone to motion sickness...but the fact that you've braved such coasters as Space Mountain makes me think that you should have any problems.

    Fun Fact About Falling Out:

You won't fall out :) It's actually physically impossible.

The centrifugal force of the coaster car going around the loop actually pushes you "down" into your seat. You won't feel your body straining against the harnesses; you may actually feel more secure than during the rest of the ride!

Here's a Brainiac experiment to prove as such:

  7. start with a cork s***w coaster. doesn't go quite all the way upside down

  8. the wooden ones r the ones that make me feel like im bout to vomit... way too jerky

this happened to me n the only thing that u have to do is ride them.... i was scared n i want on the ride n did not think about the loops the whole ....talk with ur friends about nething but rollercoasters during the whole line......

when u get on the ride  n go through that first loop i promise ur stomach wont get quesy (or however u spell it) it will just b a blast
