I have an extremely old pistol, not sure how old but whatever. Here is the information on the right side of it, there is a "MADE IN SPAIN" inscription, it is between the handle and the hammer. And on the left side of the barrel there is another inscription which reads, "FA CE TRUGAOLA APANZABALY CIA FIBAR (ESPANA)" also the A following the F at the beginning is underlined and so is the IA following the C. please help.

  1. Is it a pistol or a revolver?

Chances are if it actually says "Made in Spain" in English, it is a modern import, post WWII for sure. There were dozens of small shops that made guns in the city of Eibar, Espana, most notable are reproductions of classic old west revolvers and the French design 'Ruby' semi-auto pistols. There is some but not much collector interest in these Spanish pistols and a lot of value has to do with the actual quality of an individual piece and that can only be determined by close inspection by a trained eye.

Without type, size, caliber, pictures etc, it is impossible to say more.

  2. If you can post a pic I can reference it against a book I have of all handguns ever made

    Sidenote

Not that it matters a lot but a revolver is not a pistol

  3. all i can tell you is the pistol was made in (F) Eibar, Spain what caliber? Eibar made many different guns over the last 100 yrs. Most of them were of good quality, and were often copies of smith and wesson pistols. A photo would help greatly.
