we use sea water for cooling cos that is the only water source but the problem we are facing is, lot of sand comes along with the water thereby chocking the debris filter.CAN ANYONE PLEASE GIVE A DESIGN WHERE SAND IS COMPLETELY SEPERATED FROM THE WATER BEFORE USING IT.(water comes by gravity via a pipe line from sea to a pit.pumps are used to pump this water to the cooling water line . A debris filter is present in this line. the water then goes to the heat exchanger)

  1. You can reduce the amount of sand coming into the pumps by providing a deep sump pit, upstream the pumps, by gravity the sand will settle down in the pit and the water will move to the pumps by the gravitational slop.
