  1. hi

1* Explain the role of inertia in the following situations.

    a. the slow acceleration of a large truck compared to that of a car. this is due to the reason that trucks have larger mass as compared to the cars and when they start they tend to be still due to inertia, and thus they resist more towards motion as their mass is greater when compared to cars.

    b. a car that still moves for a short period even after the brakes have been applied. this is due to the reason, that the car still tends to move due to inertia and resists the stoppage.

    c. a passenger standing in a fully loaded bus which is at rest tends to move backward when the driver suddenly starts the bus. this is due to the reason that the man is still, but his feet move forward with the bus. so the upper part of the body tends to stay at rest and hence moves backwards as his feet start moving forward with the bus.

2*(question) can you walk on a frictionless floor? explain.

No, this is due to the reason that when we walk, we push the grond in the backward direction and as a reaction we move forward. we are able to push the ground backward because of the friction between the feet and the ground. if the floor is frictionless, we will not be able to push it backwards and hence we will not move forward as a reaction.

    hope I helped. bye.

  2. ohmaygad! physics! nosebleed!

i suggest that it would be better if someone will teach it to you personally sot that you can understand your lesson better instead of just giving you answers.
