  1. I'm 12 and I'm in 6th grade and I pretty much had the same problem. I sat in the back of the class at the beginning of the year and all I did was draw, talk or do something not to pay attention. The teacher moved me up front and I have made better grades. Take really good notes and take your text book home with you and get your parents to teach it to you again if they know how. Or, just try to figure it out on your own if your parents don't know how. My dad is really good in math and he is so helpful as long as I bring my notes and books home. It is really helpful! Just ask your teacher to move you to about the 1st or 2nd row in the classroom, it will help, it helped me. Study, also! Have an organized notebook for every subject, that's what I have, and when my dad is helping me with my homework, if I need to go back to another lesson to define something, I flip the page back, and I'm there! It's that easy. If you don't have organized notebooks, just ask your mom or dad to take you to the drug store or Walmart and buy a notebook for every subject! It is so helpful! My mom is not as good at math as my dad, so I ask him for help. If one parent is not as good in a subject in the other, it's a really good idea to stick with the parent that is good at that certain subject. always Always ALWAYS check your work-it is so helpful-and when you are checking it, re-read the directions and make sure EVERY direction is completed. Like sometimes if I don't check my work, I will forget to underline something or something really easy like that! Also, if your teachers have trouble reading your work, type it if you can. My school requires most everything to be typed that is a journal because we have to do 3 different journals a week. I always get off track in class. This helped me immensely, I really hope it will help you! I put other tips also than just how to pay attention in class because that will help to make sure there is nothing else besides not paying attention in class bringing your grades down. Good luck! =D

  3. Some schools have part-time classes, where you do half on computer, and half in traditional classrooms. You could also do your studies at home. Again, some schools have computers that you can bring home, and do your school work at home. Or, you can homeschool, but you would have to pay for some online classes. Unfortunetly, getting set up for homeschool can be frustrating and demanding, but it's an option.

My daughter has the same problem with socializing too much. She asked her teacher if she could dootle, or write in a journal, when she feels like she wants to socialize.

Also, some schools have a work program. Where your in a smaller class setting, but get out early, only if you work. This is what my daughter is doing. Unfortunetly, it's usually for troubled kids, or kids that have discipline problems. My daughter does it, because it is a small class, and your not even in the school. It's a building down the street from the school. You just change tables, not classes. This looks like a library setting. You also have no choice but to be quit. Again, it's like a library setting.

Don't be so hard on yourself. If you only focus on getting that A or B, then your setting your standards way too high. Get away from that, and you will be more relax, and be more motivated to doing your best, and you will end up getting that high grade, without even realizing it.

    Good luck to you!! :)

  4. concentrate harder and explain to your friends that try to distract you that its important to you to make honor roll.  They will understand if they care about you enough.

  5. You could have a quiet word with your teacher and ask her to move you in class away from your friends, so you don't look like a boff.

You could also do extra study at home or after school!

You could even tell your mates your struggling and you want to do well, so your going to pay more attention in class!! If they're good mates they'll encourage you!

  6. 1.  Stay after class and ask the teacher to sit you in the front.

    2.  Set a schedule.  Homework, studying, social time, work,

and anything else should be scheduled.  Its not a long

period of time so you need to focus!

  7. Don't talk to your friends, wait until AFTER class. That's basically the only advice.
