Need help increasing framerate with webcam?

this is the model of the webcam i have. the quality is ok with what im doing but i want to at least a steady framerate.

can anyone give me any tips or a application that might help?

The frame rate would be dictated by the web cam...the imaging chip and how fast in can encode & transmit the video image - thus the higher models (and also higher priced) have better frame rate and resolution.

The only thing that I can think of is to reduce the resolution - you may get a higher frame rate if you reduce the video size...say from 640x480 to 320x240.
