  1. Your box itself may be grounded.  Is it metal?  A simple way to test is to use an inexpensive tester found at a hardware store for under $5.  Touch one probe to the black wire and the other to the box.  If it lights up, the box is grounded.  You can install a grounding pigtail to the inside of the box with a #10 green s***w and connect the end of the wire to the bare copper.

If the box is plastic, or does not light up with the tester, then you have no ground available.  You can still install the light fixture, but you may want to install it on the load side of a GFCI outlet.  It won't ground the device, but it will offer some protection.  Hope this helps.

  2. You need to hook up the black and white wires up just like you took them off.  If you have a metal box attach the bare copper wire to it if not then just tuck it out of the way.

ok so what you will need to do is find out which black wire is hot all the time To do this you will need a meter . One will be switched by the light switch the other will be hot no matter what position the switch is in .  Once you find out which one is hot all the time wire nut it off it will not be used.  Now take the black that is switched and the one of the whites and hook it to your new light ,,,,ohhh and put a wire nut on the other white  it shouldn't matter which white goes where,     Good luck    YOU CAN DO IT !!!
