I'm 19 years old, and I'm a student at a community college. I am still deciding if I want to tranfer to a 4 year college. I didn't like football when I was a freshman in high school; so I never learned how to play the sport. Now I love the sport..and I regret for not trying out for the team in high school.

I get aperenoid at times, and i hate myself for not liking football back then. I know that if I do transfer to a 4 year college: I'll want to try out for football and I need to learn the sport and how it's played. I'm struggling to make guy friends...so I don't know what to do.

Is there anything I can do to learn the sport, so if I go to a 4 year college; I can try-out? My community college doesn't have anything involving football. ADVICE?

  1. In most college curriculums you'll find a class called "American Football" - usually offered in the Spring with a class called "Advanced Physical Conditioning" for Football players.

Both would be ideal for you.

  2. The only way to become a better play is to play so find a local club or anything, but playing organized football is very difficult after high school you will have to do some searching, but if you cant find a team to play with, help out with kids football and stay in shape that way at least you will know what your doing when you try out.

Watching the it on TV will help you understand the point of the game and how its played.

Playing Madden will help you develop knowledge and understanding of the strategy of the game. This sounds silly but it is a very good teacher.

  3. NFL.com has a lot of what you'd need to know.  there is an extensive rule book that includes offensive sets and peanilties.  there is also a 101 section that will give you the basics.

  4. Why do you keep asking this same question?

  5. You may want to find a pop warner league, volunteer as a coach, work out with them, learn before you commit yourself for a fall.
