Need help making my donation drive a success!?

Question

I am starting a dental care donation drive. I am collecting toothbrushes, travel-sized toothbrushes and mouthwash to be sent down in small kits to help the families in Reynosa, Mexico and need some help. I have contacted my local library and schools to put a donation box in but they both said NO! I also asked my church and they are still approving it. Since I am not an offical non-profit organization no toothpaste companies will donate and yes I have sent out letters to local dentists and am still waiting for responses.

Do you have any other ideas of how I can collect these items and make this drive a HUGE success?

you can tie up with other groups or organizations.. you dont have to do it alone.. make sure your target donors are aware of the situation in reynosa.. you can distribute flyers or info sheets to inform them.. you can also invite the donors to be part of the actual distribution of the donations.. goodluck..

If you have any large Grocery store chains (wal-mart, Sam's Club, Kroger, Walgreens, K-Mart) then you can ask for donations at these places.  They might give you a gift card and let you choose the items you need.
