Ok so i am jobshadowing this great vet who really knows her stuff. anyway i don't know what i can talk to her about. like when we are driving we draw a blank and i am only in high school so i don't know a whole lot of vet stuff. And should i take notes while i'm with her or when i get back in the car or when i get home. so what do i talk to her about. and in the heat i seem to get dizzy sometimes so what can i do about that.

  1. she's just a human... she's not going to bite your head off! vets understand where you're comming from and it's perfectly ok that you don't know as much as her! tell her you're not sure what kinds of questions to ask and then ask her to tell you something interesting or useful about being a vet. ask questions about something that took place on the call or why she did a particular thing, and how to do it properly. taking notes is totally up to you, but personally if i was taking the time to explain something i'd like to know that the person asking was paying attention, and if you're writing it down then she'll know you're serious. now about the heat, dizziness is the first sign of dehydration. you need to drink more WATER.... not soda, not sports drinks, WATER! water loss due to sweating is a very easy way to become dehydrated quickly!
