Have very little money, and are having to work with the colors of RED and BLACK. I have thought of red berries, but what to do with them is a huge question. Any input will help. Thanks

  1. Firstly, you don't NEED centerpieces.  I know they are staples of the typical wedding, but they are kind of a waste of money (they just sit there in the way of people talking all night anyway).  I'm not doing centerpieces for my November wedding (my colours are dark cranberry red, silver and gold).  We are having rectangle tables with just 3 votive candles down the table.

If you feel you MUST have centerpieces, I have no creative ideas for you, but I do have some websites that are VERY inexpensive.  I'm buying the stuff for my favours from this site:

I didn't even know what my favours would be until I browsed this site and found such inexpensive things to make gorgeous wedding accents/crafts.  I truly recommend taking a look!  I even think they have a centerpiece/table setting section WITH the instructions on haw to create the different looks :)

Also try: http://www.orientaltrading.com/ for inexpensive wedding craft ideas.

    Good Luck!

  2. You can go down to the dollar store and get some clear vases and fill them up with black stones and red berries. Maybe something like this:

Or maybe you can do something with cranberries, like this:

The branch/twig centerpieces are also very popular and affordable:

Just place some tea lights around the centerpieces with a few flower petals and they will look lovely. It doesn't have to be anything big either.

  3. My daughters wedding was a black and white wedding and we were stumped for center pieces. Well, we contacted weddingsbynicole.com and looked at her center pieces. We ended up with Black and White Plume Feathers. Check out the website and look at all the beautiful ideas she has. I think she even has pics of our center pieces.

  4. You can go with something like this:

  5. Hi and congratulations!

I have a number of ideas for you.  I wish I could find the picture now, but I can't seem to locate it.  Anyway....go to any dollar store and buy a clear glass plate:

    http://www.dollaritem.com/dollar_store/p...

This one is square, but I have seen round ones also.

Put some red "vase gems" on the plate:

Then, put a votive candle in the middle.

OR....use some fresh cranberries and do something like this:

Obviously, cranberries float if you put them in water (as pictured above), so you would need to get a white floating candle.  You could do this with just about any vase.  There are lots of vases at dollar stores, Walmart, etc.

I absolutely LOVE this centerpieces and you could adapt it accordingly.  Meaning....you can use lots less rose petals and a few less votives.  Also, if you are having round tables, then just arrange this in a circle.  These are silk rose petals and votives.

To be honest, I would use red and white (even though your colors are red and black).  I don't know....I just like the ambiance of a white candle.  I don't know about a black candle....but if that is what you want....that is fine also!

Everything in the above suggestions (except the fresh cranberries) can be bought at a dollar store or Walmart.  Hope this helps!  Good luck!

  6. spray paint veggie cans (tall ones) black and put like 3 or 4 flowers in them. red daisies are a beautiful cheap flower. you could put a heart with cherries around the vase or have an monogram on the table in cherries. that would be something cute your guest could eat!

  7. My red black and white wedding had the following centerpieces:

5 tables had a black/white vase with 5 red roses, on a red "centerpiece placemat," surrounded with red heart confetti, and a black and white photo in a black frame.

4 tables had a white platter with 3 red glass votive holders, on a red centerpiece placemat, surrounded with red rose petals, and a photo in a frame as well (on the platter).

Use any or all ideas.  It turned out so beautiful.

  8. You can pu the berries in black dishes, use simple black and red candles, or geta bowl with water and use floating candles as my friend did for her wedding. Go to the dollar store for any glass pieces you need!

  10. I found a nice vase at the dollar store and used my bouquet for my centerpiece, it looked great and matched, one less thing to worry about, just have someone grab it from you quick and set it up

  11. I work at a flower shop and we did a similar theme at a wedding, and the centerpieces we made could probably easily be recreated by you so you could save money! We put cranberries in tall cylinder glass vases and then placed a small bowl at the top of the vase. In the bowl we put some floral foam (available at any florist or craft store). Then, we arranged flowers in the foam-- I'd leave any flower arranging to a professional florist, but that might not necessarily be the case for you. We also put curly willow (a type of curly wood branch) and dogwood sticking out of the foam to give it a woodsy feel. Also, you don't have to do flower arrangements in the bowls. They would be beautiful filled with water and with candles floating in them. You could do red and black candles, and sprinkle cranberries in between. Hope this helps, I have plenty more ideas if you need them. Good luck!
