I plan to study a bachelor of Architectural Studies and then move onto a Masters Degree in Architecture however I live in South Australia and there are two universities which offer the course. They are University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide.

Could anyone tell me if architects from these institutions have an advantage over another through learning and practice? Also which type of university is a better institution to learn from?

(Also I know Adelaide Uni is in the Group of 8 - that doesn't matter to me)

  1. Both are fantastic Universities with good reputations. People won't hire you based on the specific institution that you go to, but more so based on your GPA (grade point average) and skills. You will more than likely find that once you have completed your undergraduate course, you may decide to do your masters at a different university or institution. Don't base your decision on what university you go to on which you will give you an 'advantage' over the other - this is never the case, ever, it simply doesn't work like that. Go with whichever one is most convenient for you and your studies.
