  1. If she's truant, do they want her to do home*bound* through the district?  If so, then this is a lot different than homeschooling.

If you are pulling her out of public school to homeschool her, then you need to start with the laws in your state.

Then you need to figure out what method of HS'ing you're going to use.  You need to find out her learning style and your teaching style.  After you know those, then you can search for curriculua to meet your method and your learning styles.

Connect with a local HS'ing group to see what activities and programs they offer.  Attend a HS'ing convention in your area.  Read library books about HS'ing.  Ask for catalogs from publishers and from Rainbow Resource Center:

(this has nearly all curricula at great prices and lots of reviews)

  2. im 14 homeschooled and suffer from panic disorder(which means a lot of panic attacks!) either she can do independant study through the public school she is going to now or you can home school her through a chartered school(which some are only for homeschoolers) in your town. if she is on truant because she has missed a lot of days u will most likely have to homeschool her through another school. hope this helps! :)

  3. You've already been given some good resources on how to find out your state's laws.

The next step would be to fnd out how you want to teach her.  Many teens prefer computer based or traditional text book programs that allow them to work independently.  Here's some info on both:

Here is some information on avenues of support for your daughter:

I think it's great that you're taking steps to help her.  Good luck!

  4. If she is already considered truant, then you need advice from hslda before you start to homeschool.  It will help you make sure to stay out of court with your child on truancy charges.
