Need help on making a baby blanket?

am making my 2 year old baby girl a blanket. am making the blanket by hand. i don 't know how to put the ruffle on it by hand. the ruffle well go on the end of the blanket all around and i don't want the stiches to show. how do i do that. please help

As for the blanket. My son got a great one from a friend when he was born. She made it out of all sorts of different material and kind of patched it together.

She put buttons on it and all sorts of stuff that kept him entertained for hours. It appears to be good for the development of their senses.
