Need help on making the basketball team?

I transferring schools and im going to be a sophmore this year and i really need to play some organized basketball. M y friend who graduated to the school that im going to said the is a jerk and just pick the people he likes as a person not on their skills. I need to make this team can people help

Dont worry you just gotta show your skills 100 percent every time you have the ball in your hands and you will make the team. just work on scoring a lot and defence and you will make the team

There are jerk coaches all over the place.  Michael Jordan was cut from his Jr. High team.  My son just made it through the designated jerk coach last year, but he is there to weed out those that aren't tough enough.  Imagine only playing 12 - 15 mins per game as a sophamore at 6'5" & 190lbs.  Coach is a jerk.  But that is his job.

Coaches LOVE players that will play defense.  Rebounding is a tough skill.  Do it well.  Always play hard in practice and don't complain.  Coaches hate complainers.  If you get cut, ask what you need to work on for next year.  Let him know that you are not just going away.  Good luck.

Yeah, there's a coach at my high school that was a jerk too. He didn't even give me a chance to show him what I can do on a basketball court.

It sucks that you have that kinda coach at your school. Just go to tryout and hope that he likes you and let you play.
