Question:

Need help on my microbiology homework, please!?

In my microbiology class, we did a lab involving 4 different broths and 5 different bacteria to see which broth they would grow best in. Well I had no problem with that however with my "post lab write up" I have to explain how this applies to our lives and the medical field. I can't seem to come up with anything! Obviously there is a connection with the medical field and bacteria but a connection with nutritional requirements for the growth of bacteria and life? I'm stumped! Please help!

  1. I would tie microbial nutritional requirements into pathology and host range.

  2. The bacteria grow best when their nutritional requirements are met. Humans also grow best when all our nutritional requirements are met.

  3. introduce ''optimum temperature/environtment'' of bacterial growth.  how us humans have different pH in different parts of our body for normal flora to be maintained. and how normal flora  is needed for our functioning as it keeps the helpful bacteria away from the more pathological species. For example, bacteria is usually not harmful to us if we are immunally fit, however if we are supressed by say takin antibiotics. this can disrupt the normal flora and provide a better environment for bacteria to grow up.
