I was thinking about getting this Samsung surround sound system with a DVD player. But besides the DVD player how can I get the system to work with my PS3 or just when watching TV? Do I plug it into the digital audio outlet of my HDTV?

  1.     Don't buy any surround sound system with DVD (amp build-in ), you need a system with receiver for more audio connections with other devices.

  2. You CAN use a home theatre in a box system to do that, but beware that those usually only have one or two inputs on the back for other devices. My friend has a TV that has four HDMI inputs, so he connects all of his things to that, then he has a surround sound system similar to the one you want to buy (except his is LG) and he runs a digital optical audio cable from his TV into his LG receiver for audio. I don't know how many inputs/outputs your TV has so your options might be limited; you'd be better off doing what the above answer says and buying a separate home theatre receiver (Yamaha has some decent receivers for a good price, Onkyo and Harman Kardon are better though). The problem is then you'll need speakers and that's when these types of systems start getting a bit expensive. You get what you pay for though ;) As long as you buy quality products (don't buy Bose, lol)
