What is the square root of 4.0 x 10^10?

square root of 4.0 x 10^10

means(4.0 x 10^10 ) ^1/2

so 4^1/2  = 2 cos its the square root of 4

and 10^10 ) ^1/2 u mulitply exponents giving u  10^5

answer 2 x 10^5

The square root of 4 is 2 while the square root of 10^10 is 10^5

use your calculator! there are lots on line.

If the exponent is even, just take square root of the magnitude and divide exponent by 2. If exponent is odd, shift it over by one to make it even.
