My old digital camera finally died so I am looking to replace it. I'm wanting something at least 7 megapixels or more, and at least 3x optical zoom. I would like it to be small and maybe fit easily into my pocket. I'm just looking to take pictures when I'm out with friends. Maybe send in an e-mail or post on Myspace or something. If I printed them out, it wouldn't be that big. Maybe wallet sized or 5 x 7. I've been looking at Sony Cyber-Shots but I don't like the touch screens the newer models have. So if anyone has a suggestion or opinion on a camera that would be great. I've looked at cnet.com for opinions but there's just too many cameras to sort through there.

  1. If you don't need any of these fancy options but just a good, easy-to-use camera I think you'd definitely like the Olympus u1030SW.

It's a small camera which is shock-, water- and sand-proof.

We bought one a few months ago to replace my old Fuji and I take it everywhere, even to the beach and you don't have to worry about it getting wet.

Also the battery is one of it's pluses; with a stunning battery-life of about 400 pictures (with the flash on) it never disappoints you.

  2. check out any of the nikon coolix cameras, high reliability, and high quality
