I am currently searching for a mountain bike and I'm not sure what to get. I need some help and opinions on what to get. I'm searching for a good bike that is light weight and will last for a while. I will be riding around in the city 90% of the time and maybe the trails if I have time. So I need a bike that will do well uphill and downhill. I will probably be riding 5miles each time I ride so something that wont break down easily will be good. I don't want to pay more than $400.

I'm currently looking at the Diamondback Response Sport 2008. What do you guys think? What do you guys recommend? Thank you for taking your time to read this.

  1. I think a good one might be a Mongoose 2007 Tyax Elite.

My brother has one he thinks it is great.

If not look into other Mongoose bikes.

    You can always trust mongoose!

Good luck with your biking, Sean

  2. i wou;d get a dual sport bike.  that means it has skinny tires so u can go fast on the street but shocks and more grip then a road bike so u can go on easy dirt trails.  they are also light and are affordable.  go to fisherbikes.com.  or type in dual sport bikes and u can choose what u like.

  3. A Fuji is a trusted name in mountain biking so Ive heard.  Mongoose not so much.

  4. diamondback response sport is a fine bike if that is your choice i would get that bike and buy it some tires that arent so knobby  to tires that lean more to street or better yet equel on both

    like these tires right here
