You do not indicate your personal situation.  However, unless you qualify for rent subsidy under any number of local/federal subsidies, you're going to have to cough up your rent on time.

Understand that, if you seek Sec 8 assistance, most areas have at least a one year waiting list for applicants.  Sec 8 funds are limited, and are disbursed according to wait and need.
