  1. any bat works really, as long as he can hit with it. unless he just wants a new bat to show off and not hit base hits, then go for it

  2. Try Modells.  They have a good selection of bats that range from aluminum to wooden bats for any age at a fair price.

  3. Easton stealth, or any bat that has a flex to it..it helps the bats get through the zone quicker..i use an easton stealth when i struggle (college ballplayer) and it helps me find my swing again

its a great bat for  somebody getting used to a -3

  4. The best bat he can get is one that is good for him. By that I mean one he feels comfortable swinging. Believe it or not, there is more to a bat than the decals and colors. There is even more than the alloy used to make the bat. Things like weight distribution, and handle size often get overlooked but can really help make a hitter much more comfortable.

Take him to a Modell's (as stated) or a d**k's Sporting Goods, or any other baseball shop, and get a feel for some bats. Granted, anymore prices are absurd, but he will find one he likes.

Also, don't get the most expensive bat because of the price or looks, or because everyone else uses it. Get the bat he feels comfortable with, and it will make all the difference. A hitter with confidence, beats a hitter with a flashy bat every time.

The player makes the bat, not the other way around.

  5. d**k's
