Here is some info:

-the party is next August

-it's in San Diego

-I want it to be like a big dance (not a big dinner)

-I want it to be AWESOME!!!

Please help! :) Thanks!!

  1. Plan it around you want you can have a ballroom them for example everyone can wear formal clothing and have those little masks and you can be the princess of the ball and if you have someone as your date then they can be the prince but if no one then you can have all the guys put their name in a bowl and then you have your parents draw a name out and crown someone as prince

  2. Hey what up i live in San Diego too. I live in Eastlake close to Chula Vista. I where you I would bring lots of girl friends that you like and just have fun. Do what girls normally do at that age. You should watch 16 Candles with all your girl friends. Enjoy being 16 years old. See yaaa around YA.

  3. i am turning 16 this year and i have been looking up things to do for mine. since you are doing a dance.. you may want to put a theme to it..such as black and white.. or formal. get a good dj. maybe do it on a beach.. or rent a club out. have awesome food and good music. and it will be the talk of the year!

    good luck!

  4. wanna date?

  5. have an outdoor cookout with little lights on the outlines of the dance floor. have somesort of hard platform for people to dance on. have tables for people to sit at and just talk.

  6. Luau Party

Even if you don't have access to a pool, you can create a luau in your own backyard. Find cheap party supplies at http://www.orientaltrading.com , add some music and tropical foods, including punch, pineapple, coconut, etc. Then, let teens dance, play games, etc.

If you don't have a pool hook up the sprinkler and let them run through it or get something like in the links below

  7. Well, since you have a year to plan, it also means you have a year to save. I helped my younger sister plan her 16th birthday party in about two months. She didn't have any money though, so we did it on a budget. If you want it to be a dance, you can do it at a teen club, or if you don't have quite that much money saved up, try having it at your house or in somebody's garage. Themes are DEFINITELY in, people love to dress up. My sister had a black and white party. All the guests were told to wear black or white. We decorated with streamers and balloons.  We got the most bang for our buck by making some of the decorations ourselves. She wanted a star theme too, so we bought lots and lots of black posterboard (you can find it on sale) and traced about twenty large stars (two per piece), and then probably  a hundred or so smaller stars (about 15 per piece) and put those up to create silhouettes on the wall. Those were the coolest thing. (We also did that for halloween using bats- when the strobe was on, it looked like the bats were flying!). We also bought a roll of curling ribbon....you can find them in hundreds of colors at the party store for about $2 a roll. We cut pieces, and curled them using scissors and hung them from the ceiling. If you want your guests to dance, you'll need some cool effects. A nice stereo is a must. Try shopping after halloween sales at Walmart for a cheap strobe light and party packs of glow sticks. Since your guests will be dancing, they'll also be hungry. Save more money for food than for anything else. Try finger foods such as pizza, pigs in a blanket, cookies, chicken nuggets tray from chickfila, chips, soda, punch, etc. Plus your cake of course. :) Make the table look extra cool by adding confetti and stuff on top of the tablecloth, scattered around plates. :)

    Hope these helped! :)

  8. You need a theme. Luau, Mardi Gras, Paris, something. Then choosing that will make it a lot easier to go from there

  9. Have an outside party somewhere, put up a tent and set an Idie vibe. the heat will go well with it. Decorate it and maybe even get some Indian dancers to come and perform.

  11. Watch the Southpark episode when Satan has his bday party.   He had a cool one (even though he ended up getting an Acura shaped cake instead of a Ferrari)

  12. NEXT AUGUST! I got no presents for my 16th, no cake and no party. Count yourself lucky.

Go watch fellow brats on "my super sweet 16."

  13. watch sweet 16.

  14. Here is a little tip, do not watch the MTV show "my sweet 16" and picture your party like the ones on that show. Just rent a large indoor space, with lasers, and trippy lights, then get a good DJ (who dose not play bands like soulja boy) and you will be all set.

  15. Why not have a themed party? I don't know what you're like (interests, what ever) my 18th was rock star theme and it was great!! I went to a beach themed party which was awesome and a black, white and bling party (something more simple) it's up to you!

  16. turn your back yard or your neighbors back yard into a hawaiian themes Luau and have a dance area surrounded by tiki torches. You could have those plastic Leis to give out and string colorful paper lanters throughout the trees. Carribean music playing in the background with people limbo-ing in their bikinis would be cool, too. Dont forget sunglasses and decorative plastic margarita glasses with punch in them. If you have the time and are interested, you can actually have someone make a "booth" for a "drink bar". You just build a simple bar and use shredded brown paper to staple to the front of it. It makes an interesting hut. We did this entire party inside for some friends. If you want a big dance, lok up some companies that sell party supplies. You can get some ideas based on what you see in their online store. Happy early birthday!
